Transferring your accrued benefits and consolidating MPF accounts

Got more than one MPF personal account? Consolidate them into a single HSBC MPF personal account to manage your benefits easily

All your benefits in one MPF account

It's common to have more than one MPF account. That's especially if you've had employers who use different MPF schemes, or you've been self-employed.

We can help you consolidate them into a single HSBC MPF account. This gives you a comprehensive view of your MPF account. You can also check your balance easily, online or on a mobile device.

Our HSBC Mandatory Provident Fund – SuperTrust Plus offers a range of diversified Constituent Funds for you to choose from as investment options. You can choose the one that best suits your investing style. Learn more about HSBC MPF scheme and Constituent Funds.

Locate and check the status of your MPF personal accounts

If you do not have the details of your personal accounts, you can check with the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) to find out the number of personal accounts you hold, as well as the name and the hotline of the trustee under which each account is held.

For details, visit the MPFA website.

Consolidate your accounts in just 3 steps

Already hold an HSBC MPF Personal Account and an HSBC Personal Integrated Account? You can transfer your benefits via the HSBC HK App. Simply gather the details of the MPF personal accounts you hold with other MPF providers. Next, log on to the app. From there, we can pass on your instructions to the eMPF Platform to transfer your accrued benefits to your HSBC MPF Personal Account.

For the detailed steps and to learn about any of our MPF personal account consolidation promotional offer, please see our Personal Account consolidation offers leaflet (PDF).

Once you've logged on, follow these steps:

  1. Verify your identity with your HKID card.
  2. Enter the trustee names and the scheme account numbers for the accounts you want to transfer your accrued benefits from.
  3. Check the information you've entered, then select 'Confirm' to proceed.

How to apply for a transfer of your accrued benefits[@mpf-consolidate-eca]

You can transfer your accrued benefits, as derived from your employee mandatory contributions under the Employee Choice Arrangement (ECA). To do this, you'll need an HSBC MPF Personal Account.

You'll then need to submit your request to the eMPF Platform. There are two ways you can do this.

Via the HSBC HK App

Log on, select 'HSBC MPF', then choose 'Transfer benefits under Employee Choice Arrangement (ECA)'. Once you've submitted your instructions, we'll deliver them by post to the eMPF Platform for its processing.

By completing a paper form

Complete an Employee Choice Arrangement (ECA) – Transfer Election Form (MPF(S)-P(P)). You can download it from the eMPF Form Centre, and submit the completed form to the eMPF Platform directly.

Transferring or consolidating benefits from self-employed accounts

Got an HSBC bank account, but not an HSBC MPF Personal Account? You can open one and consolidate your MPF personal accounts via the HSBC HK App.

You have two options in managing your accrued benefits:

  • Retain them in the existing HSBC MPF scheme
  • Transfer them to a personal account in any MPF scheme of your choice

Transferring accrued benefits to HSBC Tax Deductible Voluntary Contribution (TVC) accounts

You may choose to transfer your accrued benefits between an HSBC MPF TVC account and a TVC account under a Registered Scheme offering TVCs, at any time provided that:

  • the transfer must be in a lump sum
  • the entire balance must be transferred

Please note that you cannot claim tax deductions for the transfer of accrued benefits from a TVC account to another TVC member account in another registered scheme. It would have been counted in the original MPF scheme for which the TVC contributions were originally made as new contributions in the relevant tax assessment year.

Note: Scheme administration services are provided by the eMPF Platform. These include the processing of MPF scheme enrolments, contributions, and member investment instructions. They also include the transfer and withdrawal of MPF benefits, and updates to personal details.
