What do I need to be eligible?

• You qualify for HSBC Premier if you maintain a Total Relationship Balance of HKD1,000,000 or more
• Should your Total Relationship Balance drop below HKD1,000,000, a Below Balance Fee will be applied, based on your average Total Relationship Balance over the last 3 months

Total Relationship Balance (TRB) includes:

• Hong Kong dollar / Renminbi / foreign currency deposits
• Market value of the following investments: local and overseas securities, Unit Trusts, bonds, certificates of deposit, equity linked investments, structured notes, Monthly Investment Plan (stocks/ Unit Trusts) and Wayfoong Statement Gold
• Deposit amounts of Deposit Plus and Structured Investment Deposits
• Utilised lending facilities (excluding mortgages and amounts outstanding on credit cards)
• Life insurance with savings or investment component¹
• HSBC MPF balances and HSBC ORSO Defined Contribution Scheme balances which are administered by HSBC Life (International) Limited
• Minimum total relationship balance refers to the rolling average for the previous three months
  

     ¹For life insurance with savings or investment component:

      Investment-linked life insurance policies include the total cash value of the policies;

      Other life insurance policies include the total cash value of the policies OR total premium paid less any annuity payments received (if applicable), whichever is higher.

To determine your overall TRB in sole capacity, the applicable TRB of all your personal sole account(s) held or registered with the same joint accountholder(s) under the same name(s) and identity number(s), held with the same joint accountholder(s) will be included in the calculation. There may be a time lag before the value of certain investment transactions (i.e. initial public offering subscriptions for securities, bonds, open-end funds and certificates of deposits) and life insurance policies will be included in the TRB due to the processing time required and therefore may affect the TRB in the Bank’s record.

Below balance Fee

• Total Relationship Balance is HKD1,000,000 or above: Free
• Total Relationship Balance is less than HKD1,000,000: HKD380 per month

       Note: The below balance fee is based on your average Total Relationship Balance over the past 3 months and applies to each Integrated Account held by you.

1. Customers have to maintain a Total Relationship Balance of HKD1,000,000 or above, which includes your deposit balances, investments, utilised credit facilities, life insurance with savings or investment component, HSBC MPF balances and HSBC ORSO Defined Contribution Scheme balances (which are administered by HSBC Life (International) Limited).
2. Overseas mortgages and overseas account opening applications will be handled and processed by overseas HSBC group entities directly and will be subject to the approval of the overseas HSBC group entities responsible for the areas in which the property is located.
3. ATM card service is available subject to prevailing local age requirement.
4. The HSBC Voluntary Health Insurance Scheme Plans (‘VHIS’) Plans are not equivalent or similar to any kind of deposit. HSBC VHIS Plans are underwritten by HSBC Life (International) Limited (“HSBC Life”) which is authorised and regulated by the Insurance Authority ("IA") to carry on long-term insurance business in the Hong Kong SAR. Please refer to the product brochure for detailed features and the policy provisions for the detailed terms and conditions (Name of VHIS Provider: HSBC Life (International) Limited, VHIS Provider Registration Number: 00042, Effective Date of Registration: 29 May 2020).
   HSBC Life is incorporated in Bermuda with limited liability, and is one of the HSBC Group's insurance underwriting subsidiaries. The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited ('HSBC') is registered in accordance with the Insurance Ordinance (Cap. 41 of the Laws of Hong Kong) as an insurance agent authorised by HSBC Life. This product is a product of HSBC Life but not HSBC and it is intended only for sale through HSBC in the Hong Kong SAR. Your benefit is subject to the credit risk of HSBC Life.  If the policyholder discontinues and / or surrenders the insurance plan in the early policy years, the amount of the benefit he / she will get back may be considerably less than the amount of the premium he / she has paid.  Your premiums paid will form part of HSBC Life's assets. You do not have any rights or ownership over any of those assets. Your recourse is against HSBC Life only.
   In respect of an eligible dispute (as defined in the Terms of Reference for the Financial Dispute Resolution Centre in relation to the Financial Dispute Resolution Scheme) arising between HSBC and you out of the selling process or processing of the related transaction, HSBC is required to enter into a Financial Dispute Resolution Scheme process with you; however, any dispute over the contractual terms of the above insurance product should be resolved between HSBC Life and you directly.
5. Overseas StudySurance policy is underwritten by AXA General Insurance Hong Kong Limited ("AXA"), which is authorised and regulated by the Insurance Authority of the Hong Kong SAR. AXA will be responsible for providing your insurance coverage and handling claims under your policy. The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited is registered in accordance with the Insurance Ordinance (Cap. 41 of the Laws of Hong Kong) as an insurance agent of AXA for distribution of general insurance products in the Hong Kong SAR. General insurance plans are products of AXA but not HSBC. Please note that Overseas StudySurance's coverage may overlap with your other existing protection plans' coverage or exceed your needs, we suggest you compare Overseas StudySurance's coverage with any existing protection plan you have in place to avoid duplication. General Insurance products are applicable to HSBC Account holders and HSBC credit card holders only. The information is intended as a general summary. 6. HSBC Global Transfers is an instant transfer to self-named or third-party overseas HSBC accounts exclusively available to HSBC Jade, HSBC Premier and HSBC One customers. It is free of charge to HSBC Jade and HSBC Premier customers exclusively.  Please refer to "HSBC Global Transfers Supported Countries and Fee Tariff" for the list of supported countries.

8. Emergency encashment services are available to HSBC Premier customers and their family members who have an account with any member of the HSBC group and subject to local regulations. “Family member” means immediate family member including spouse, parents and any dependent (namely, sons, daughters, anyone the customer has legal guardianship over). The eligibility of the family members for this service is subject to our sole determination. In case of disputes in relation to the use of this service, our decision shall be final and conclusive.

10. Some services offered by the IBC depend upon the arrangements made with, and the type of products and services that are available in the relevant overseas locations. These may change at any time without prior notice.
11. You may need to provide additional documents or information during the account opening process (as required by the destination country / region).
12. Our Partner(s) (being independent property consultant(s)) provide a range of international property services in accordance with their applicable terms and condition and may charge a fee for their services. 14. To apply for a supplementary card, the parents are required to be the primary cardholders of Premier MasterCard credit card and the children are required to be aged 16 or above.

16. Any qualified case for a claim amount below HKD5,000 will be processed immediately and the claims payment will be approved within 2 working days upon receipt of all required documents as may be required by AXA General Insurance Hong Kong Limited (AXA). Should further information be required, AXA will send a follow-up letter to the claimant within 5 working days.
17. Applicable to permanent residents aged 18-65 residing in Hong Kong who do not hold any HSBC bank/ investment accounts or credit cards currently. If you fall outside this criteria, you can apply in a branch or by phone.
18. For new customers, just bring your identification document and a recent proof of address. Please visit https://www.hsbc.com.hk/docs/premier/application-notes.pdf for details of account opening required documents. For existing customers upgrading to a Premier account, you don't need to bring an identification document or a proof of address when applying in branch. You can set up HSBC Premier Junior Pack and Premier for Next Generation accounts for your children, and create an investment account when you apply in branch.

Currency conversion risk - The value of your foreign currency and RMB deposit will be subject to the risk of exchange rate fluctuation. If you choose to convert your foreign currency and RMB deposit to other currencies at an exchange rate that is less favourable than the exchange rate in which you made your original conversion to that foreign currency and RMB, you may suffer loss in principal.
