There are two ways to send money overseas

What is it?	These are free², instant transfers to any HSBC account in the world. If you're an HSBC Jade, Premier or HSBC One customer, you can use this service to send money 24x7. Because it's an instant transfer, you can be sure of the FX rate at the time of your transfer. It's also very convenient because you don't even need to know the receiver's Bank Identifier Code or address or anything like that. FAQ

Transfer instructions are processed between 8.15am and 5.55pm, Monday to Friday, and 8.15am to 11.55am on Saturday, excluding Hong Kong public holidays.

You can send transfer instructions whenever you like but requests received outside the times listed above are processed on the next business day.

Applications for same day value are subject to cut-off times related to the time zone of the destination and/or the requirements of the settlement banks. This means that your account may be debited before the value day. We are not liable for any interest expense or loss incurred as a result.

We process outward telegraphic transfer instructions in Renminbi from 8.15am to 4.00pm, Monday to Friday (excluding Hong Kong public holidays).

You can send us transfer instructions whenever you like but requests received outside these times are processed on the next business day.

Processing of outward telegraphic transfer instructions in Renminbi is subject to the schedule of the Renminbi clearing bank. For example, they will not process payments during holidays in mainland China, such as Labour Day and National Day.

HSBC Global Transfers is an instant transfer to self-named or third-party overseas personal HSBC accounts exclusively available to HSBC Jade, HSBC Premier and HSBC One customers. It is free of charge for HSBC Jade, HSBC Premier and HSBC One customers exclusively. The service is available for over 15 regions, including Australia, Mainland China, Singapore, the UK and the US, and more. See our full list of regions and complete tariffs guide.

This is standard local handling charge of each outward telegraphic transfer issued. The service fee is waived for each RMB telegraphic transfer issued to HSBC Group/branches in mainland China via HSBC Online Banking. Additional charges may be levied by the bank, other banks and/or overseas banks.
If you are first-time user of HSBC Global Transfers, please log on to HSBC Online Banking and link up all of your accounts by selecting 'Add/ remove a country or territory' in 'My banking' menu. Please have your Mobile Security Key or Security Device ready for the set-up. If you'd like to link your HSBC Hong Kong account to your other HSBC accounts in other countries and regions via Global View, simply enter your Personal Internet Banking username followed by a security code generated from your Mobile Security Key or physical Security Device.
If you would like to make transfer to third party overseas personal HSBC accounts via HSBC Global Transfers, please log on to HSBC Online Banking and add them as new payees first. You'll need your Mobile Security Key or Security Device ready with you for the set-up.
